Smiles: Earn as You Go

Earn As You Go

You'd never guess that you can make money just for driving your car.  Not for driving and picking stuff or people up, like for Uber / Lyft / Postmates, etc... but for literally, just driving.  That's the concept for Smiles.

How does it work?

Smiles is an insurance analysis company that has created an app to track what people do while driving.  Smartphones are more than just pocket computers, they have all sorts of sensors that can detect things like GPS location, speed, acceleration, deceleration, even ambient temperature.  These are things that Smiles needs from drivers.  They need to collect as much data as possible to help in their insurance analysis of how people drive.

They need the data and they have figured out that most people are willing to give it for a pittance of payment.  But they need you to actually move further than a few hundred yards.

Payment is $0.03 per mile up to 110 miles per day ($3.30 per day)

Get Paid to do Stuff

Without digging too deeply into the Internets you will definitely find some shady stuff.  SwagBucks sounds like a great deal on the surface. Do Stuff, Get Paid, right?  There's no two ways about it, how much time are you willing to spend doing stuff, to get cash and gift cards?

How does it work?

  1. Sign Up with SwagBucks
  2. Click on something that has a reward of Bucks
  3. Rinse / Repeat

Turo: Rent Any Car

Rent Any Car

It's actually a thing, you can rent any car that you want.  Granted you might have to live near someone that has that car and is willing to rent it out, but it's better than the standard vehicles that you can get from a rental agency.

One of the coolest things about the Turo app is being able to rent cars that you can almost never get access to, such as Porches, high-end BMW and Mercedes, and Teslas.  There is definitely a higher cost to renting these luxury vehicles, but normally services that do rent them out charge you as much as $250 per hour, rather than the typical $150-200 per day that it will cost on Turo.

How does it work?

1. Sign up for Turo.  You will need  your Drivers' License & a form of Payment..
2. Search your area  Or if you're travelling search near the airport or hotel of your destination.
3. Pick your dates, amenities, insurance, and secure the rental

iBotta: Get Paid to Shop

Get paid to Shop

You can PROBABLY make a lot of money using iBotta, almost to the point of paying for the groceries and items that you purchase.  But make no mistake, it will not be a walk in the park.

Like nearly every site that claims that you can either get money for doing nothing or doing next to nothing, iBotta is no different.  But in terms of doing very little it does actually pay something. If you purchase the items that iBotta wants you to buy, you can, in some cases get paid more than the item.

How does it work?

1: Sign Up for iBotta
2: Pick your favorite stores
3: Shop
