You can PROBABLY make a lot of money using iBotta, almost to the point of paying for the groceries and items that you purchase.  But make no mistake, it will not be a walk in the park.

Like nearly every site that claims that you can either get money for doing nothing or doing next to nothing, iBotta is no different.  But in terms of doing very little it does actually pay something. If you purchase the items that iBotta wants you to buy, you can, in some cases get paid more than the item.

How does it work?

1: Sign Up for iBotta
2: Pick your favorite stores
3: Shop




While shopping, you can do one of two things, (1) either search for the things that you want or (2) scan them as you're putting them into your cart. iBotta recognizes that you probably want more than just $0.50 off that 4-pack of yogurt, so in some cases you can scan the item up to 5 times and get $2.50 for one item. It is apparent in the app as to which ones you can scan more than once.

At the end of Shopping, be sure to scan your receipt (you can take multiple photos for a long receipt).
The receipt scan it to check that you actually bought the things that you claim to have purchased. And you get a little bonus for doing that.

Why do this?

iBotta is working with vendors of the products in your favorite stores to encourage you to purchase their products. Often these products are not selling as well as they would like and this minor incentive is a lot less expensive than paying for more advertising.  Honestly, it's actually quite brilliant, because by this point the vendor knows for a fact that you purchased the product and that iBotta was successful.

But you like it because you could, if you purchase the correct items and play the game that iBotta has created, get your groceries for much less

Tricks to Getting more out of the App

You probably already know that Walmart is one of the least expensive Grocery stores, just about anywhere in the United States.  Of course there are other options out there, but Walmart has the lowest prices.  So it would be best for you to shop there anyway.  Yes, there are other stores like Costco, Sam's Club, and WinCo, all of which have exceptionally low prices too, but often require that you buy in bulk.

1. Buy the CHEAPEST item. Be sure to check that the item in the list matches the item on the shelf
2. Buy ONLY  items that you can scan 5 times
3. ALWAYS scan you receipt
4. Use MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS, your account and your spouses account
5. Sign up with as MANY FRIENDS as you can stand to pester.  The more people who use this app, the more money you can get back, because all their usage applies to you as well.
